How does Modern Warfare 2's third-person mode work?

In the third-person perspective, players will view the character from a slightly backed-up camera angle, allowing them to view the surroundings better. Although the depth of the field in front of your operator is diminished, players will see a better view of the environment. The camera will focus over the right shoulder of your operator. You can 'shoulder swap' by changing the directional view from left to right, which will be a major factor while peeking corners across the maps.

In the third-person, the crosshair is automatically positioned in the middle of the screen. You will get to see an X while aiming from behind an object. The camera zoom is automatic when the player moves from one angle to another and stops before colliding with objects. This feature allows players to change their position for better angles. Players will automatically switch to first-person view while aiming down sight in the third-person perspective. This means every time you ADS, the view changes to first-person, allowing you to land those precise shots on target.
