How to beat the Lunar New Year Challenge in Clash of Clans

Supercell brings new challenges to mark the coming Lunar New Year every year. Players worldwide celebrate the event by fighting in exciting new raids and getting unique scenery and hero skins as a reward. This year's challenge is one of the hardest ones we have ever encountered. In this guide, we will help you beat it!

How to 3-star the Lunar New Year Challenge in Clash of Clans

This year's Lunar New Year Challenge will reward you with Magic Theatre scenery, Obstacle, and Lunar Queen legendary skin. It is notable for being exceedingly difficult, but if you follow the steps outlined below, you will beat this challenge successfully every time.

Triggering Hidden Teslas and Skeleton traps on the right push

• Set up one Wallbreaker at the bottom right corner near an Air defense.
• Place two Wallbreakers on the right side, near the Gold Storage.
• Send an additional Wallberaker in the little gap above the Gold Storage, near the Bunny's head.
• Send two more Wallbreakers across the right side below the Bunny's arm to trigger some Skeleton Traps.
• Place three Balloons directly on top of each Tesla on the right-hand side of the map. Add the fourth one if you feel like you need it.
• Destroy the Wizard statue on the right side of the map. Place one Balloon on top of the statue and one on the bottom. This will trigger nine hidden Teslas.
• To destroy the Barbarian statue, do the same thing: place two Balloons both at the top and at the bottom of it. This triggers Skeleton traps. Place the Poison Spell on the right of the statue as well. Add the Queen and five Healers to accompany her to that same location. To clean up this area of any remaining Tesla towers, deploy another Balloon.

Bottom push with Barbarian King

• Begin by deploying two Balloons on the second Lantern from the left and right, respectively. They will trigger five hidden Teslas.
• The attack will focus on the weak spot we broke open on the first attack. Skeleton Spell the wall breach and reinforce their push with a Valkyrie and the Barbarian King. The Barbarian King is a powerful unit able to take out hidden Teslas with a single hit.
• Focus on the Queen. As she approaches the Warden Statue, place Rage on top of the Golden Tree. Place Castle Troops on the breach behind the Queen and a Valkyrie.
• Watch the progress of the Balloons reaching the base center. As they near the X-bow placed near the inner base wall, reinforce the bottom push by placing four Balloons, one for each Tesla tower. Again, if any of them remain standing, use another Balloon to ensure its destruction.
• Watch over the Archer Queen as she progresses further into the inner portion of the base. She will be in danger when she engages the defending hero and the X-bow on the left side. Use her ability to go invisible to save her whenever you feel she's threatened. You should be able to destroy the core of the base in this push.

Clearing the top of the base

• We will now focus on the top of the base, shaped like the Bunny's ears. There will be four Teslas and four Inferno towers on the walls. Place three Rage spells, two on the top of each uppermost Inferno tower and one between all four.
• Place two Lava Hounds so that they attack the towers from the top of the base.
• You should have about 20 Balloons left. Spread them out in a half-circle shape around the base walls and let them support the Hounds.
• These troops will manage to collapse the top part of the base before joining your forces to clean up the base's remains.
