How to get an S rank in Cuphead

A bout for the brave!

Cuphead was quickly recognized for not only it's unique and interesting art style, but also the precision-based boss fights that prove to be some of the most challenging fights of any modern game. Nothing is as coveted to completionists as earning an S Rank on all of the game's original 28 boss fights. Those insane few will be happy to know that Cuphead: Delicious Last Course introduces even more fights in which an S Rank can be earned.

Requirements for S Rank in Cuphead Delicious Last Course

Cuphead: Delicious Last Course brings more of the same calculated combat that is required to achieve the coveted S Rank. Only this time around the boss fights are the toughest yet. Before you can even consider going for an S Rank on a level, you must complete the Delicious Last Course main story. That means you must beat all of the main bosses. Once you defeat the final boss, Chef Saltbaker, you will unlock the Expert difficulty. Playing on Expert difficulty is required to earn an S Rank. Below are all of the requirements to earn an S Rank in Cuphead: Delicious Last Course.

  • Beat the stage on Expert.
  • Beat the stage in under two minutes and ten seconds.
  • Beat the stage without getting hit.
  • Successfully parry three times during the stage.
  • Use six Super Cards throughout the stage.

The requirements are definitely not easy to achieve on their own, and having to do everything on Expert mode only adds to the nightmare. Anyone brave enough to go for S Ranks on these fights can expect to get used to failing frequently.

My name is Mason Moses. I am an entertainment aficionado, who spends more time consuming it than I would like to admit. I've been playing video games for the past 15 years and every time I turn one on, it feels like the very first time. Since I liked games so much, I decided that I would write about them.
