Dark and Darker now has its own launcher after its legal troubles. This can be found at Dark and Darker website. You will need an account and to purchase the game, as it is no longer free-to-play. When making an account, I had issues getting my verification code, but it eventually was sent and worked.

How to play the Dark and Darker Playtest on Steam

Dark and Darker is no longer available on Steam. After the legal issues, it was removed. With a new publisher, Chafgames, a new launcher is required to play Dark and Darker. The game and launcher are available on Dark and Darker's official website. Be prepared for various issues, especially those with servers, as the new launcher irons out any kinks.
