If you're playing as the killer in Dead by Daylight, survivors will be pesky blights that must be caught and sacrificed at all costs! Here's a quick guide on how to grab survivors in Dead by Daylight.
How to catch survivors in Dead by Deadlight
There are a few different scenarios where you can grab survivors. To try and catch a player, you need to Press The Attack Button for a Quick Attack, but not a Lunge attack; otherwise, your killer will still regularly attack rather than try to grab the survivor.

If a survivor is Healthy, you can grab them from lockers while searching or when they are transitioning out of them. You can grab them from hooks while they are sabotaging them, attempting to rescue another survivor from a hook, or while working on generators.
If you want to grab a survivor whilst they are pallet vaulting or in a window, then they need to be Injured and within range. If they are healthy, then it will not affect them.
If you use Stealth killers or The Spirit, then attempting to grab survivors will be easier as they make them Unprepared, Vulnerable, and Unaware so you can grab them immediately.
Sometimes, there are bugs regarding grabs because of latency and animation issues. It has been recorded that sometimes a grab will be initiated but transform into a lunge or get stuck in a half-grab position. So don't worry if you struggle to get the hang of it; it is tricky!
