How to Upgrade Safehouses in Dead Rising 4

Want to be the hero AND get goodies? This is how!

The Dead Rising series is one that warrants going back to time and time again due to how fun it is. Dead Rising 4 expands upon the mall-centric map layout, and even has you explore more of Willamette itself! But sometimes exploring also means hiding... Here's how to upgrade safehouses in the game!

Safehouses are referred to as Emergency Shelters, and the key to levelling them up is rescuing survivors. First, however, you must clear out all of the shelters and kill the zombies that have overrun them. Once they are cleared the shelter will be open to the people you rescue.

Whilst travelling around Willamette you will find people who are in need of your assistance. Kill the zombies/enemies that surround them, and they will then run off merrily to the nearest Emergency Shelter.

When this happens you will gain a reward for helping, and the level-up bar for the nearby Emergency Shelter will appear and go up by about 50 percent. It takes roughly two survivors for the shelter to be levelled up each time.

The maximum level for each shelter is Level 5, which means you will have roundabout 10 survivors in each of the four shelters that are scattered around Willamette.

The shelters are in the Willamette Memorial Megaplex, West Ridge, North Peak and Old Town.

Why Level Up the Shelters?

Levelling up the shelters means that better Combo Weapons, Training Manuals and Combo Vehicles become available from the Vendors inside the shelters.

If you are wanting to get the most out of the game's weapon system, then getting those survivors to safety is a must! In previous games you had to practically hold the hands of the survivors until you reached the shelter, the good news is that you no longer have to manually escort them back anymore!

So, you can save the day, get the gun and put in slightly less effort than before!
