The Story mode is where you play certain characters to beat the story of the anime the game is based on and unlock all playable characters for Versus Mode. You can beat the Story Mode in about 10 hours.

The game has two main modes:

  • Story Mode
  • Versus Mode

Story Mode offers you the complete story from the anime, including a lot of free-roam gameplay. These captivating cutscenes show the story events in a beautiful manner and classic fights known from CyberConnect2's previous games.

Versus Mode allows you to choose up to two characters and play either offline or online. All the playable characters are unlocked by beating the main Story Mode, which involves participating in fights, engaging in conversations with other characters, completing simple puzzles, and watching cutscenes filled with Quick Time Events.
