Destiny 2 Lightfall – Headlong Mission Walkthrough

One of the more challenging missions in Destiny 2's Lightfall campaign is the Headlong mission. Throughout the Lightfall campaign, both the Guardian and Osiris have been struggling to control the power of Strand. Headlong might be the penultimate mission, but is also the one where things finally start to come together for the Guardian. That's why it's a shame that it's such a complicated mission.

How to complete Destiny 2 Headlong Campaign Mission

Head to Liming Harbor

When you spawn at Strider's Gate, head East toward Ahimsa Park, to reach Liming Harbor. If you go West, through Zephyr Concourse, the mission won't track progress and spawn the appropriate set pieces.

Take out the Cabal Patrol

Once you reach Ahimsa Park, there will be a Cabal patrol wandering around. Windbag Osiris will start blathering about Strand. Kill this patrol until he runs out of hot air. When you get back on your sparrow, feel free to zip past the next patrol and continue to Liming Harbor.

Liming Harbor

Interface with the Strand pillar when you get into Liming Harbor. It will be directly on your left. Now you'll come up to your first door puzzle of the mission. There are two types of Harpies that spawn. You'll know what order to shoot them in by looking at the pattern above the door. The first one is Glowy, Regular, and Glowy.

Follow the indicator to the next locked door. The pattern for the second door is Glowy, Glowy, Regular. Proceed inside the building and through the other side to the beach. Up on the cliffs will be the next Strand node. Double back after interacting with it to get your Vex murder on. Once your rampage is complete, follow the indicators to the next room. The pattern for the third door is five Glowy.

Osiris' Simulation

It would appear that losing his Light and access to the Infinite Forest hasn't diminished Osiris' fondness of Vex simulations. The first part is a parkour section designed around using Strand. You don't have to use it though, as it's fairly easy to jump around without it.

The second room is the real pain. There is a central pillar with a rotating wall of death. While it's not an instant kill, it still hurts plenty. Take out four packs of Vex to spawn the boss. The boss phase is all about patience. Keep an eye on where the wall of death and the boss are at all times. Make sure to keep the packs of enemies thinned out so you don't get overwhelmed. Play it safe and slow, taking your shots and then dipping behind cover. Playing into Strand's aggressive playstyle will only lead to death and frustration.

Once the boss is down, make sure to collect your loot as it's likely good infusion fodder. Listen to Osiris' praises of your newfound prowess and get ready to tackle the last mission. It's time to bring the fight to Calus!
