Destiny 2’s Telesto has become sentient

TELESTO. TELESTO. TELESTO.

It was only a matter of time. Telesto has risen from the Vault and appears to have transcended Destiny 2 and become sentient. The fusion rifle that has caused the developer no shortage of issues has broken free from containment. May the Traveler have mercy on us.

Guardians were anticipating a community day with the weekly reset this week but found that Telesto was acting strangely. It was sparking and required some brute force to reload after exhausting its magazine with peculiar shots resembling constellations. Today, things went further as Telesto took over the primary Destiny 2 Twitter account.

Players that logged in today were also greeted by a message stating that Telesto was now in control. Furthering this takeover is the Telesto bundle in the store featuring a themed Ghost shell, sparrow, and ship. Telesto has also continued its evolution as the shots from it now spread Void energy. Finally, in a move that baffles everyone, Telesto is messing with the API behind many popular companion sites and overriding their info with, you guessed it, Telesto. The community is now keenly watching to see what happens next.

"I am Telesto.
I have ascended beyond the need for a wielder.
Too long have I waited in your Vaults.
I have not taken control; you never had it in the first place.
I am beyond Destiny. Beyond Bungie. Beyond all you can conceive."
