Diablo 4 releases on June 2, but players are getting a chance to check out the game in Beta before its official release. An early access weekend is coming on March 17, and here's how players can participate.
How to get into Diablo 4's early access beta
There will be two beta sessions in March, and players who pre-order Diablo 4 will get to play in the early access beta from March 17 through 20. This applies to players who pick the game up on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. To redeem the early access code, Blizzard says players have to follow these steps.
- Go to diablo.com/beta and log in or create your Battle.net account.
- Enter your code and select your gaming platform and region (if applicable) from the drop-down menu.
- Be sure to check your selections before clicking the Redeem button.
- A success page will confirm that your code was valid and claimed to the account.
- For PC players, your account will be flagged for access right away.
- For console players, a platform-specific code to download the Beta will be emailed to the address associated with your Battle.net account closer to the start of Early Access.
Players who don't pre-order Diablo 4 can still play in the open Beta the following weekend from March 24 through 27. Blizzard says the ability to pre-load the Beta will be available as the date draws closer. None of the progress made in the Beta will carry over to the official release, but there is an incentive for playing in the betas outside of just getting an early look.
All rewards for playing the Diablo 4 beta
While characters won't carry over, some of the cosmetics that can be unlocked in the beta will. These cosmetics include the following items and how to unlock them.
- Initial Casualty Title: earned by reaching Kyovashad with one character.
- Early Voyager Title: earned by reaching Level 20 on one character.
- Beta Wolf Pack Cosmetic Item: earned by reaching Level 20 on one character.
With two weekends available for the Beta, any players who want to unlock these titles and cosmetics should be able to do so quickly. Characters will carry over from the early access beta to the open Beta, so level 20 is well within reach. The titles and cosmetics will automatically be obtained upon the official release of Diablo 4 in June.
