How to complete Wall-E’s Sprouting a Story quest Disney Dreamlight Valley

RPG Disney Dreamlight Valley has enjoyed long-running success thanks to continuous additions to its content. A great example is the Dapper Wall-E Dream Bundle, which gives Wall-E a cool new look alongside some new quests connected to our robotic hero. If, like me, you’re a Wall-E fan, it was a no-brainer to pick up this little bit of DLC. If you did too, but are struggling with the quests, read on to find out how to complete Wall-E's Sprouting a Story quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

How to get the Disney Dreamlight Valley Wall-E Sprouting a Story Quest

You can only get this Quest by purchasing the Dapper Wall-E Dream Bundle by spending 4,000 Moonstones in the in-game Shop. Doing so will begin the Your Sunday Best Wall-E quest. You must complete this to progress, so you’ll also need to have unlocked Wall-E, Mirabel, and Ursula. If you have, simply equipping the Dapper Wall-E Dream Style (go to Collections, Characters, Wall-E, and switch to Dapper Dream Style) will complete the Quest.

Note: You’ll also need to have unlocked the biomes Dazzle Beach, Forest of Valor, Glade of Trust, Sunlit Plateau, and Frosted Heights to complete the Quest.

With Wall-E looking Dapper, go to the west side of Dazzle Beach, past Donald Duck’s boat, and you’ll see a Purple Book on the floor. Pick it up to start Sprouting a Story. Note that the book will only be there if you have completed the steps above. Speak to Wall-E, give it the book, start tracking the Quest, talk to the robot again, and follow Wall-E to its house. Talk to Wall-E inside, and you’ll continue the Quest.

Sprouting a Story: The 10 Storybook Pages in Peaceful Meadow and on Dazzle Beach

You’ll now be able to collect ten pages that are scattered around these two locations. The locations are as follows (these may not be universal):

Dazzle Beach

• Clear Purple Thorns at the bottom of the steps on the west side of the beach, in front of Donald Duck’s boat
• From the first Purple Thorns, head a few steps east towards the bridge. There will be another set of Purple Thorns by the water just before the bridge.
• On the east side of the bridge, on the sand, before the cave, again in Purple Thorns.
• Just a few steps past the previous page, this one is a little nearer the grass and on the sand.
• Go over to the island with the Pillar of Unity on it. The page is just lying on the sand in front of the skull made of rocks.

Peaceful Meadow

• In Purple Thorns, north of the large east lake, near the wall.
• On the grass at the bottom of the east-facing steps that lead down from the Plaza, northwest of the large lake.
• On the grass a few steps northeast from the more northerly of the two smaller lakes, between the lake and the steps.
• In Purple Thorns, directly south of the central steps down from the Plaza, on the way towards the steps down to the west side of Dazzle Beach.
• A few steps south and east from the previous page, almost exactly halfway between the two sets of stairs leaving the Meadow north and south.

Note that due to the way you can move the scenery around and place houses, these locations may be slightly different for you. For example, the last page above was inside Goofy’s home for me, presumable because of where I happened to have it placed. Once you’ve collected all ten pages, return to Wall-E’s truck and give the items to progress the Quest.

Sprouting a Story: The 18 Storybook Pages in Forest of Valor and Glade of Trust

After reading part of the story with Wall-E, you’ll realize you must find 18 more pages. These will be found in the nearby Forest of Valor and Glade of Trust, so you’ll need to unlock them if you haven’t already.

Forest of Valor (10)

• On the path just past the top of the steps from the Plaza entrance to the Forest.
• Right in the center of the area, again on the path. If you look on the map, it’s where the V in Valor is.
• Directly south of the bridge over the river, just southwest of the Well.
• Next to the Well on the ground, just east of the bridge on the south side of the river.
• Near the base of the steps leading up to Frosted Heights.
• Three pages are on the floor inside Kristoff’s House in the southeast corner of the area.
• Two pages next to each other, halfway between Kristoff’s house and the Well, one on the grass and one in some thorns.

Glade of Trust (8)

• North of the east pond and west of the east river bridge, right on the word Glade on the map.
• Just a few steps south and east from the previous page, on the floor at the northeastern edge of the eastern pond.
• There are two pages right next to the Pillar of Trust.
• There are another two pages next to the southerly river crossing, which is made of stones.
• In some Purple Thorns just south of the eastern side of the eastern of the two wooden bridges.
• At the top of the slope that leads into Glade of Trust from Dazzle Beach.

Once again, these directions depend on you not having moved the landscape items described (you can see the exact locations on the map), and this is where I found the items – I’m not sure if they may be in slightly different locations for each player. Once you’ve found all 18 pages, find Wall-E, speak again, and then go to his house. After reading more of the story to the plant, you’ll need to find even more pages.

Sprouting a Story: The 22 pages in Sunlit Plateau and Frosted Heights

Once more, you’ll need to have unlocked Sunlit Plateau and Frosted Heights before entering these biomes and collecting the required pages. This is where I found the pages.

Sunlit Plateau (13)

• On the ground in the elephant’s graveyard, on the left, as you enter.
• On the floor inside Scar’s House.
• On the floor, roughly between the original positions of the Well and the Stall.
• In some purple thorns right on the word Sun in Sunlit Plateau on the map.
• A few steps west of the previous page, just on the ground.
• A few steps east of the page two above, again just on the ground.
• Almost in the southeast corner of the biome, along the eastern edge.
• Right next to the previous one in some purple thorns.
• A few steps west of the southeast corner, in some more purple thorns.
• In the mine. One just inside the entrance on the floor.
• In the mine. Turn left into a small cave, straight on, right, then left again to a dead end (it’s on the floor).
• In the mine. As above, but turn right instead of left, and it’s on the floor at the point along that path where it turns to the left.  
• In the mine. Next to the mineable rock near the path that leads up to the red keg.

Frosted Heights (9)

• Two on the ground close to each other in the very southeast corner of the biome.
• Just north of the first two, also on the ground, by the small pond.
• Just on the north side of the same small pond.
• In some purple thorns, between the small pond and the Well.
• Two on either side of the Pillar, both inside some thorns.
• To the west of the Pillar, right on the river edge, on the floor.
• East of the Pillar on the ground, right near the edge of the area.

Again, these are the locations I found the pages. Yours may be placed elsewhere, depending on whether you’ve opened up all of each area. You only need to have opened the areas, not the extended areas, to be able to complete the Quest.

Completing the Sprouting a Story Quest

Once you have all 22 pages, return them to Wall-E and hand them over. You’ll find out that while you were away, the plant has disappeared. Find the clue on the floor in Wall-E’s house (near the red canister in the corner), and show this Youth Tonic to Wall-E. Now you need to find out who it belongs to. With the Quest being tracked, you’ll see that Mother Gothel is highlighted as part of the Quest, so got see her in her house. Give her the Tonic.

As you’d expect, Mother Gothel wants something from you in return for the plant. You need to bring her 8 Seaweed (fishing at non-fish spots), 6 Cucumber (Frosted Heights seeds), and 5 Sunflowers (yellow flowers in Dazzle Beach). Once you have everything, return to Mother Gothel’s house in Glade of Trust. She sends you right back to Wall-E’s house, where you’ll find that Wall-E has found the plant again. After reading the story, the plant will fully recover, and the Quest is complete. You’ll receive Wall-E’s Scavenged Items, a crate you can open in your inventory to receive a bunch of items. I got just over 2,000 Star Coins, 50 Iron Ore, 25 Pebbles, and six flowers.
