Techland's Dying Light 2 has been in development for what feels like an eternity, but thankfully, the game has already seen what should be its last delay. The zombie-killing, traversal-rich first-person action game will grace a litany of platforms, but how much time will it take to see the credits roll?
Dying Light is filled with content for players to explore, and the team behind the game has explained how much time players can expect to sink into the open-world experience.

Those aiming to see everything that Dying Light has to offer should clear their schedules, as Techland has stated on their official Twitter account that players will need 500 hours to see every facet of the game. This includes all story missions, collectibles, endings, and a full world map exploration. See their full official statement below.
After fans voiced concern over the length of Dying Light 2, Techland clarified that completing the main game won't take 500 hours. Players aiming to do the main story, side quests, and a substantial amount of exploring can finish the game and all its side quests in 100 hours or less.
When critiqued, Techland narrowed the number down in their replies to about 70-80 hours for the average player interested in finishing the main game and side quests who's not rushing through content.
Techland later posted on Twitter to specify how long the game should take for those interested in the main story. Completing the main story should take around 20 hours in Dying Light 2.
Regardless of the length of Dying Light 2, fans are eagerly anticipating this sequel to 2015's Dying Light. Dying Light 2 releases on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC on Feb. 4, 2022.
