Why can’t I play co-op in Dying Light 2?

Can you fix co-op in Dying Light 2?

If you are wondering how to fix co-op in Dying Light 2, the simple answer is that you can't. In short, it was a bug that was previously preventing some players from playing co-op with their friends.

When players attempted to start a multiplayer game with their friends, they would receive a Network Disconnected error. If you are still getting an error similar to this, there is still no way to fix it through any troubleshooting steps. Because of this, the error is most likely an issue the developers can only solve with a patch or hotfix.

Luckily the developers are aware of the problem and have already issued a patch that some players reported to fix the problem. That said, check Steam or Epic Game downloads for a recent update that may be pending.

If playing on console, the only option is to wait for a patch from Techland to solve this issue.

If you don't see such an update, you may need to relaunch either Steam or the Epic Games Launcher. After relaunching the game, look for a 240MB update, start it if you see it, and wait for it to download. When the download finishes, relaunch Dying Light 2 and then try launching a multiplayer game and see if it now works with the new update.

If a download does not start, all you can do is wait for the update to appear. Co-op is important to Dying Light 2, so it's safe to assume this issue will be promptly fixed.
