Elden Ring’s Mohg can be beaten in an hour and a half on a fresh character

Elden Ring's highly anticipated DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree is set to give Tarnished worldwide a new adventure. However, not everyone is in the same boat as plenty of fans are still speedrunning their way to certain requirements for access to the DLC. If you've yet to beat Mohg (a necessity to play it), we have some news that will light the Erdtree on fire again.

Reddit user SoulObsession hopped onto the Elden Ring subreddit to bless all struggling Tarnished with an easy and 100% consistent Mohg script that will allow early-level players to quickly down this fairly difficult boss and in turn access the Shadows of the Erdtree DLC, even if starting from scratch.

SoulObession spoke about the short 1 hour and 30 minutes of playtime he needed to defeat Mohg with almost no trouble at all. However, there are some prerequisites that players will have to follow, and the script of the fight itself needs to be strictly adhered to for this consistent strategy to work.

If a video isn't your cup of tea then a helpful document has been compiled for an easy read along.

SoulsObsession's specific equipment is finely tuned to allow the defeat of Mohg without much fuss. Bloodhound's Fang is the perfect weapon with high damage and low stat requirements and has an incredible Ash of War as a bonus. Each Talisman is utilized to its absolute maximum while also minimizing the time it takes to acquire each piece.

This strategy utilizes all the damage offered by consumables, items, equipment, and weapons, then it bunches it all together in a choreographed dance with Mohg. If you follow all instructions as shown you will come out of the fight without taking a single bit of damage. You're not going to be able to defeat Mohg with one attack, so you'll fall back on the Mohg's shackle to keep the boss in a stun lock that allows us to dish out as much pain as possible. Throw in a couple of Ash of Wars and Mohg is defeated.

That list of required items and equipment may seem exhausting but with some elbow grease, perseverance, and a strong desire to dunk on Mohg to access the Shadow of the Erdtree then it may be the best shot for new players.

That's everything you need to know about Mohg's scripted defeat. If you're looking for more Elden Ring content check out Everything you need to do before the Elden Ring DLC comes out, Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree release time (Countdown), and more on Pro Game Guides.
