All Ships in Everspace 2, ranked

All Ships in Everspace 2 are classified into three main classes—Light, Medium, and Heavy. Furthermore, every class has a sub-class of ships, each with its own special abilities, ULTs, and passives. While some attributes differ depending on the ship's tier, their specialization, abilities, and weapon slots remain the same. That said, the following is a list of all the ships you can find in Everspace 2 ranked.

S Tier

Gunship

  • Class: Heavy

Gunships trump all other ships in Everspace 2 when it comes to raw DPS and heavy tanking abilities. It comes equipped with two additional primary weapon hardpoints, effectively doubling all damage it dishes out. For its ULT (Ultimate,) it deploys an automated turret that fires projectiles at nearby enemies for a particular duration, which means you can fire at enemies with your primary and secondaries, even with the ULT activated. It might be the slowest of all ships in the game, but it makes up for its lack of maneuverability with a devastating arsenal of weaponry.

Scout

  • Class: Light

The Scout is a light-class ship that specializes in sniper-like gameplay styles. The Ranger's special ability allows it to gain 4% bonus damage for every 100 meters distance from a target. Its ULT makes it invisible to enemies and increases weapon damage by up to 300%. For this reason, the Scout benefits from engaging targets from a distance, which is great because it lacks the damage-absorbing capabilities of medium and heavy ships.

Interceptor

  • Class: Medium

The Interceptor is the best of all medium-class ships thanks to its versatility. It comes with three slots each for both primary and secondary weapons. It can fire weapons for longer owing to its Power Converter special ability, which uses boost energy to fire weapons when weapon energy is depleted. Activating its ULT significantly increases weapon damage and fire rate, provides unlimited weapon energy, and is refreshed for one second upon each kill. You can't go wrong with the Interceptor if you're looking for a jack-of-all-trades ship.

A Tier

Vindicator

  • Class: Heavy

The Vindicator is a necromancer-type heavy ship that can summon up to five drones to assist it in battle from the wreckage of enemy ship parts. Purely due to this special ability, it can be a force to reckon with even without any input from the player. It is also the fastest out of all heavy-class ships and can tank a lot of damage thanks to the bonus shields it receives for each spawned drone.

Striker

  • Class: Medium

The Striker excels amid battle against swarms of enemies. Its special ability increases weapon damage for each enemy within 500 meters of its radius up to a maximum of 30%. With its ULT, it can turn a target into a tether anchor that connects to five nearby enemies who receive the damage dealt to the target. If you're looking for a ship with decent defense that doesn't shy away from the heat of battle, the Striker is the one for you.

B Tier

Stinger

  • Class: Light

The Stinger is a light-class ship that specializes in the utilization of devices. Thanks to its Device Master special ability, all devices on this ship automatically gain one device upgrade level, making it easier to master devices and unlock their bonus modes. Furthermore, activating devices adds a primary weapon hardpoint temporarily, effectively increasing DPS for the duration. With its ULT, it can reset all device cooldowns, release a swarm of bots that damage locked-on targets, and restore hull and armor when they return.

Sentinel

  • Class: Medium

The Sentinel is the first ship you get in Everspace 2. Although not as great as the other medium-class ships, it still excels in almost any given situation. It specializes in the use of consumables and can be equipped with up to four. The Induction special ability allows it to gain weapon fire rate depending on its shield level, and activating the ULT turns the ship's primary weapons into lightning-emitting zappers that damage a target and other enemies near them.

C Tier

Vanguard

  • Class: Light

The Vanguard is a highly mobile light-class ship that primarily excels in reconnaissance. It is the fastest ship in the game, and all its benefits come from traveling fast. While boosting or cruising, the ship gains overshields of up to 200% of its shield capacity. When firing at a target from the rear, it gains an additional critical chance bonus, and with its ULT, it can slow down time to reposition itself quickly in a sticky situation.

D Tier

Bomber

  • Class: Heavy

The Bomber is similar to the Gunship but primarily specializes in secondary weapons. Unlike other ships, it uses weapon energy to fire secondary weapons instead of ammunition. It comes with three slots for secondary weapons, and its ULT fires a massive projectile that explodes on impact, dealing AoE (Area of Effect) damage to enemies. However, it fails to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the other heavy-class ships due to its lack of overall utility in the midst of a heated battle.
