As mentioned in Square Enix's "thank you" tweet above, Game of the Year wasn't the only award the MMORPG took home during SXSW 2022. Judges recognized Final Fantasy XIV's iconic orchestral soundtrack and bestowed it the Excellence in Original Score award.
Lastly, Square Enix walked away from SXSW 2022 with praise for Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker's beloved narrative. The Excellence in Narrative award went to Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker to cap off an unforgettable award show for Square Enix and Noaki Yoshida, the director of Final Fantasy XIV.
It's no secret in 2022 that Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is one of Square Enix's most prolific properties, garnering tens of millions of players across PC, PS4, and PS5 since its release in 2013. The MMORPG has continued to enthrall players with an excellent narrative, gameplay, and story with each expansion, and 2022 was no different.
