A lovely cup of tea!

In Final Fantasy XIV, the emotes are one of the best features giving life to your character. And one of the great things about Final Fantasy XIV is how it makes the mundane feel worth experiencing. That's why the recently released Drink Tea emote has proven very popular.

By typing /drinktea, players will see their character pull out a dainty tea cup and saucer and enjoy a nice cup of tea. So how do you get this for yourself? As of right now, the Drink Tea emote is cash shop only.

How to buy the /drinktea emote in FFXIV

To buy the Drink Tea emote for yourself, head to the Final Fantasy XIV Online Store, formerly known as MogStation. The item is listed as Emote: Drink Tea, and at the time of writing is listed at $7.

Simply click Add to Cart and checkout, and your Emote will be sent to your character’s account. The emote only registers for a single character, so make sure you’re selecting the right one.

Once you’ve bought the emote, log on and check your mailbox. You should find a message from the Final Fantasy XIV Online store in your post, with a copy of Ballroom Etiquette - The Tea included. Once Ballroom Etiquette - The Tea is in your inventory, click it to activate it. You can now use the emote!

Should you buy the Drinking Tea emote in Final Fantasy XIV?

The Drinking Tea emote is definitely a luxury item and fairly expensive for what it is. However, if you’re a die-hard collector this is a very satisfying new addition to the game.  If you’re looking for a less expensive option, the /eatbread emote is readily available from either the Ishgardian Restoration or the Marketplace in-game.
