More details are starting to emerge about events in Genshin Impact 1.5. We hope you are ready to face waves of foes in the Meaty Arena of Contending Tides.

Genshin Impact Contending Tides Event

Contending Tides Event starts on April 2, 2021, at 10 am Server Time. To access this challenge while learning an array of various rewards, you need to get to Dadaupa Gorge. The event ends on April 12, 2021, at 03.45 am Server Time.

Of course, like any event in the game, you must be at a certain Adventure Rank to be able to take part, so you must be at Adventure Rank 20 or above to join the fray. If you are close to that rank and want to earn some rewards in thrilling battles, we advise you to do as many quests and bosses as possible to boost yourself as swiftly as possible.

The rewards you can get are as follows:

• Mora
• Talent Level-Up Materials
• Character EXP Materials

Contending Tides has a multitude of difficulty levels, and every day one new challenge will unlock with three new difficulties to attempt. Players can select any of these difficulties. If you complete a higher difficulty, this will automatically clear any challenge on the lower difficulties.

There is risk/reward involved, as the higher the challenge, the more rewards you will earn! For example:

• Normal Difficulty
  • 60 Primogems
• Hard Difficulty
  • x3 Guide to Resistance
  • 30000 Mora
• Extreme Difficulty
  • x3 Hero's Wit
  • 30000 Mora

This event is not so simple as killing things one after the other. Each challenge has a trio of criteria that must be completed. If you do not succeed in all three, the challenge will fail.

Moreover, each challenge will also buff/enhance certain abilities or boost certain effects. Make sure to pay close attention to these, so you know what you are up against and how to use them to your advantage.

Sadly, using the new World Level change mechanic will not alter the difficulty of these event challenges.

Day One | Welcome to Easy Mode

For this challenge in the arena, there is a circle aura. If you stay inside the aura, you'll receive a huge Attack Boost!

• Details
  • Attack Boost is 100 percent.
  • When you strike opponents, a shockwave is released; only if your stamina is above 50 percent will this occur.
    • This shockwave will deal Area of Effect Damage but can only be triggered once every three seconds.

  • Primogems, Hero's Wit, Guide to Freedom, and Mora
• Extreme Difficulty Criteria
  • Defeat 20 opponents in 180 seconds.
  • Defeat four Blazing Axe Mitachurls
  • No character deaths during the challenge.

Day Two | Don't Sweat It

For this challenge in the arena, all Damage dealt by Electro-Charged reactions is massively increased!

• Details
  • Electro-Charged reactions deals 150 percent increased Damage.
  • When an enemy has an Electro-Charged reaction, upon striking it, a shockwave is released, dealing AoE damage,
    • Shockwaves can only be triggered once every five seconds.
• Rewards
  • Primogems, Hero's Wit, Guide to Resistance, and Mora
• Extreme Difficulty Criteria
  • Defeat 30 opponents in 180 seconds.
  • Time between kills cannot exceed 20 seconds.
  • No character deaths during the challenge.

Day Three | Art of the Cannonball

For this challenge in the arena, all Plunging Attacks release powerful shockwaves and increase the Damage of your next Plunging Attack. In the center of the area, a constant gust of wind is enabled; use this to help with Plunging Attacks.

• Details
  • • When any character performs a Plunging Attack, a shockwave emits from landing.
      • After performing one, the next Plunging Attack and shockwave are increased by 50 percent.
      • This can be stacked 10 times.

• Extreme Difficulty Criteria
  • Defeat 25 opponents in 190 seconds.

  • No character deaths during the challenge.

Day Four | Battle of Epoch

For this challenge in the arena, when any Normal to Charged Attacks hit frozen opponents, shockwaves will be released.

• Details
  • • When any character hits a frozen enemy, a shockwave emits
      • There is a 50 percent chance a shockwave will occur dealing Area of Effect Damage.
      • These shockwaves can occur once every second.

• Extreme Difficulty Criteria
  • Defeat 5 opponents in 135 seconds.
  • Do not leave the arena during the challenge.
  • No character deaths during the challenge.

Day Five | To the Bitter End

For this challenge in the arena, the lower your Health the higher the Bonuses they receive will be.

• Details
  • • The Attack Bonus variants that will occur depending on Health are:
      • When Health is less than 70 percent, Attack is increased by 50 percent.
      • When Health is less than 50 percent, Normal and Charged Attack Speed are increased by 25 percent.
      • When Health is less than  30 percent, attacks that hit opponents will release a shockwave that deals Area of Effect Damage.
      • All Bonus effects occur simultaneously.

• Extreme Difficulty Criteria
  • Defeat 1 opponent in 110 seconds.
  • Do not leave the arena during the challenge.
  • No character deaths during the challenge.

Day Six | Shock Me, I Dare You!

For this challenge in the arena, Normal and Charged Attack Speed are increased, and stamina consumption is also decreased. But defeating opponents with a Charged Attack grants a stacking bonus that increases the damage of Charged Attacks.

• Details
  • • Normal and Charged Attack Speed is increased by 25 percent, and Charged Attack stamina consumption is decreased by 50 percent.
      • Defeating an enemy with a Charged Attack increased Charged Attack Damage by 50 percent—this can be stacked up to eight times.
        • Once eight stacks have been obtained, each time you use a Charged Attack, a shockwave will emit dealing Area of Effect Damage.
