Genshin Impact: How to get the Portable Waypoint

A waypoint that allows me to travel to a custom location? Count me in!

Many quality of life items are available as rewards in the newly added Reputation System included in the Genshin Impact 1.1 update. As you increase your reputation level in each region, you will be awarded a new item at each level! These items are not essential, but they do reduce the time taken to achieve certain things. It really is a quality addition to an already stellar game.

Genshin Impact How to get the Portable Waypoint

To get the Portable Waypoint in Genshin Impact, you need to reach Reputation Level 6 for the region of Mondstadt. When this level is unlocked, the Portable Waypoint blueprint will be awarded, allowing you to create this amazing quality of life item at a crafting bench.

The Portable Waypoint is actually what it sounds like, you can create a waypoint anywhere on the map, and you can fast-travel to it from any location on the map! But first, you must reach Reputation Level 6 in Mondstadt, and then head to a crafting bench to create the Portable Waypoint.

However, they are limitations; you can only hold one Portable Waypoint and only have one waypoint open at a time - if you attempt to make a second Portable Waypoint, your first one will disappear! The waypoint will only last for seven days, so always keep that in mind, and there is a 60-second cooldown to be able to create another waypoint if you made an error.

The Reputation System is a new mechanic in the game, where each region has a reputation level you can increase to get a bunch of fantastic awards! To increase your reputation level in each region is very easy; you can complete Bounties, Requests, and just explore the game like normal. More information can be found in our Reputation System guide!

The Portable Waypoint is such an amazing item; it can be used in a plethora of places, such as key farming locations, such as to farm Crystalfly to get Crystal Cores to craft Condensed Resin. Or at an Elite boss's location, so you no longer have to walk there from a fast-travel point.

Hey, my name is Mark, and I'm a video game enthusiast! My earliest memory was playing Worms on the Amiga against my Godmother, yes the Amiga, massive box type thing, needed eighty-five thousand floppy disks to play one game, maybe a slight exaggeration. Ah, those were the days! I love RPG’s, and The Legend of Zelda series. Dogs are pretty awesome.
