How to complete the Perils in the Dark World Quest in Genshin Impact

Ringing bells can't be THAT complicated, right?

Perils in the Dark is the fifth part of The Chasm Delvers World Questline. It continues where The Heavenly Stone's Debris left off. Follow the quest marker to the Nameless Ruins from the Stony Halls to investigate the dark fog.

You'll find a glowing Investigate spot with Oozing Concretions in front of it. Use the Lumenstone Adjuvant (minimum level 2) to clear the dark blobs and reveal Fatuus' Journal. After reading it, you'll be prompted to ring the two bells on either side of the ruins.

Follow the quest marker to the quest area south of the Underground Waterway. Head to the location of the Teleport Waypoint, where a door guarded by a Shadowy Husk will automatically open and let you through.

From there, follow the quest marker to the giant ruin and climb up. Once you climb the vines, you'll find a small hole that you can pass through. Ignore it and go the other way, which will allow you to climb to the top of the ruin.

First, you need to defeat the two Abyss Mages getting the way. Then, recharge the plant in front using the Lumenstone Adjuvant—this consumes three Energy. Doing so will prompt purple stones to appear.

Your goal is to unlock the mechanisms and remove the purple stones. You can do so by firing a projectile from the plant, targeting both the mechanisms and purple stones. You need to attack the plant facing the direction of the target. The closer you stand, the shorter the reach of the projectile. So for the farther mechanisms and purple stones, stand slightly away from the plant for the projectile to reach.

Successfully firing at any of the mechanisms or purple stones will cause a chain reaction, affecting similar nearby structures. After all of the mechanisms have been unlocked and all purple stones have been removed, the bell at the other side of the clearing will unlock. Attack it to prompt a cutscene to play, completing this part of the quest.

Second Bell (South of Stony Halls)

Follow the quest marker to the ruin, which is guarded by a Ruin Grader. Defeat it and continue forward. Your goal is to reach one floor below the top of the ruin, as this is where the puzzle starts.

First, remove the Oozing Concretion inside the room to reveal a diamond stone structure, which will result in four total. They need to be lit up by activating a source of luminosity beside them. Focus your attention on the three inside the room.

The first one is simple: recharge the mechanism beside it, which will serve as its source of luminosity. The other two need to be lit up with the help of the two Seelies in the room.

This part is a bit tricky. When you lead the Seelies, they will always eventually overlap and will never land in front of two unique diamond stone structures if they move at the same time.

Your goal is to have both Seelies overlap, and then only move the Seelie closer to the structure while forcing the second Seelie to stay in place. This means that you need to carefully approach the Seelie in front so that the one behind it doesn't get prompted to move. It may take a few tries to get it right.

You should end up with two diamond stone structures with a Seelie in front of them, and the third lit by the mechanism beside it. After, go outside and approach the fourth diamond stone structure. Your Lumenstone Adjuvant will light it up, completing this part of the puzzle. You'll be rewarded with a Precious Chest.

After that, a Wind Current will appear. Use it to propel you to the top of the ruin. Lead the Seelie to the unlit diamond stone structure, which will unlock the mechanism between them. Interact with the mechanism to open the gate leading to the floor below.

Make sure to lead the Seelie downward to get an Exquisite Chest. A Ruin Grader and Oozing Concretion'll also greet you. Remove the dark mud and defeat the Ruin Grader to reveal the second bell. Attack it to prompt a cutscene, completing the puzzle.

Abyss Lector Battle

After ringing the two bells, head back to the Nameless Ruins with a battle-ready team that can break Pyro and Electro shields. You'll be prompted to defeat Pyro and Electro Abyss Lectors. After the battle, interact with the glowing Investigate spot on the ground to get the Curious Cube, completing the World Quest. You'll also get the Wonders of the World Achievement called Birth Pains of the Dark Fog.
