The Knave is a Genshin Impact Weekly Boss featuring the Fourth Fatui Harbinger, Arlecchino. In the same clearing where she once dueled against "Mother," you must defeat "Father" to claim weekly rewards, including the Fading Candle, Silken Feather, and Denial and Judgment.
These are used as Talent Ascension materials for Arlecchino and other characters in the future, so consider farming as early as possible as you can only claim rewards once a week!
How to unlock The Knave Weekly Boss in Genshin Impact
To unlock The Knave Weekly Boss, you must first complete Arlecchino's Story Quest, the Ignis Purgatorius Chapter Act I - When the Hearth-Flame Goes Out. It requires you to complete the following prerequisites:
- Reach Adventure Rank 40 or above.
- Complete the Archon Quest Chapter IV: Act V - Masquerade of the Guilty
Unlike events, it's not possible to skip the prerequisites to unlock Story Quests, so you'll have to power through all the Archon Quests until Fontaine. Additionally, it costs one Story Key to unlock Arlecchino's Story Quest. Upon starting, you can initiate focus mode to prevent overlaps with other quests.
After completing Arlecchino's Story Quest, a Domain called the Scattered Ruins will appear in Mont Esus East, located north of the Court of Fontaine. You can teleport directly to the area and interact with the entrance to the ruin to begin the battle.
You can battle The Knave as much as you want, but you can only claim rewards once a week. Spend 30 to 60 Resin after the battle (discounted rate applies to your first three Weekly Boss collections for the week) to randomly get the Fading Candle, Silken Feather, or Denial and Judgment.

How to defeat The Knave in Genshin Impact
The battle against The Knave is tricky as she barrages you with a lot of attacks, moves across the map quickly, and applies the Bond of Life to party members. These need to be taken into consideration when building a team against her:
- Bring a reliable healer to outheal the Bond of Life. It's impossible to stay alive in this battle without a healer.
- If you're not good at dodging fast-paced attacks, bring a shielder with a very strong shield—this was the first boss where my Zhongli's shield would often get destroyed before the cooldown resets.
- Don't use characters with stationary abilities, such as Yae Miko's totems or Kokomi's jellyfish. The Knave flits across the map very quickly, so skills that force you to remain stationary will hold you back.
- Consider bringing a DPS with a decent range/hitbox, as The Knave sometimes flies around and is small compared to other bosses, so she can be difficult to reach. However, a bow user is not required.
- Being a Pyro boss, The Knave is best defeated using Elements that React with Pyro, including Dendro, Hydro, Cryo, and Electro.
The Knave has a lot of abilities with dodgeable hitboxes, but they tend to cover a large area on the map and only give you a second to dodge. Pay attention and try to avoid them as much as possible. Other attacks can be dodged with practice or cheesed with a shield, but remember that The Knave's damage is generally very high so be wary of your shield health and cooldowns.
If you're experiencing general loading issues with Genshin Impact, pay attention to the moment when The Knave transforms into Peruere. I strongly recommend skipping the animation cutscene as doing so will give you full visibility of the upcoming attack's hitbox, buying you a few seconds to dodge it. The attack is especially hard-hitting and can easily OHKO squishy units. If your device is slow or laggy, you will miss the narrow window to dodge.

How does Bond of Life work in Genshin Impact
A key mechanic in The Knave's battle is her ability to apply the Bond of Life to any party member. It's a debuff that holds a portion of your HP hostage and prevents healing until it's cleared. To clear the Bond of Life, the character inflicted with it must receive healing equal to the amount of HP held hostage.
The Bond of Life can be identified by a symbol of a red cross and the portion of the HP bar in red signifies the amount of healing required to clear the debuff. While the Bond of Life is active, characters can continue taking damage, so it's pertinent to clear it as soon as possible.
A large portion of a character's HP can be held by a Bond of Life, making them susceptible to death. As a result, you need a reliable healer to manage the team's HP.
