Merely a month after Genshin Impact's first DMCA subpoena against leaker Ubatcha, Cognosphere has reportedly continued to fire off similar complaints via the California District Court. The publisher was reported to have filed four more DMCA subpoenas against popular Discord channels where leaks commonly circulate:
- 原神内鬼爆料区 (meaning 'Genshin Impact Leakers' Group'), primarily targeting user Linxian#0001
- House of Daena, primarily targeting users LJ.#8200, M9G#3656, and rice cooker#9289
The accompanying documents include screenshots of leaked information on Wanderer and Faruzan, who were released in Genshin Impact's Version 3.3 update. Subpoenas can only be filed after DMCA takedown notices have been sent out. These would typically force Discord to provide identifying information concerning the affected users, such as their name, address, phone number, IP address, and email address. The users may also face suspension from the platform.

Interestingly, the timing of the subpoenas aligns with the recent wave of Fontaine leaks, which started to circulate seven months before the region's approximate release period. Given the delays with legal proceedings, it's likely for an even larger wave of DMCA subpoenas to spread once HoYoverse and Cognosphere have sorted out all the necessary paperwork.
In the meantime, they have been actively sending out DMCA takedown notices to leakers, such as popular Twitter user @FontaineDaily. Their victim list includes creators who have shared fanart of leaked Fontaine characters, prompting various artists to delete their work for safety. Ubatcha, the first target in this DMCA fiasco, has been able to return to their online activities without any legal trouble, but it's uncertain how others will fare in this game of cat and mouse.
