Should you purchase Intertwined Fate or Acquaint Fate in Genshin Impact?

In Genshin Impact, wishing for characters is arguably the most exciting part of the game. Using your hard-earned Primogems to roll for characters is a wonderful payoff that justifies the daily grind. However, with two types of wishes to choose from, it can be confusing to determine where to spend your Primogems. What's the difference between Intertwined Fate and Acquaint Fate in Genshin Impact?

You can only use each type of Fate to wish on one type of banner. Intertwined Fate can be used to wish on the Event Banner, while Acquaint Fate is used on the Standard Banner. These two Fates both cost 160 Primogems each and can be purchased from the Paimon's Bargains menu in the Store. They can also be bought for five Starglitter in the Paimon's Bargains menu.

Is it better to purchase Intertwined Fate or Acquaint Fate in Genshin Impact?

Although this partially depends on your personal preferences, it is generally better to purchase Intertwined Fate with your Primogems. Since Event Banners frequently change, there is only a limited time to wish for their five-star characters. Intertwined Fate are also harder to come by, as they are rarely granted as quest rewards. However, Acquaint Fate are often granted as in-game rewards, especially for quests and beginner players.

In addition, the Standard Banner does not typically alter its roster of obtainable characters. If you want to roll for a character on the Standard Banner, it's going to be around for a while. If you want a character on the Event Banner, on the other hand, you only have around two weeks to successfully wish for that character. It's better to purchase Intertwined Fate and save them for a limited-time character since you'll already be getting Acquaint Fate from quest rewards anyways.

If you are getting extremely close to Pity on the Standard Banner, you can make an exception and purchase a few Acquaint Fate. It's always fun to gain a five-star character, and this enthusiasm may encourage you to save as many wishes as possible so you don't miss out on your favorite five-star.
