Who are the Fatui Harbingers in Genshin Impact?

It's time to meet the group pulling the strings behind the scenes.

Within the dastardly Fatui organization, there exists a fearsome military faction devoted to the Cryo Archon—The Eleven Fatui Harbingers. These Eleven agents are exceptionally powerful beings, wielding Vision-like Delusions or otherworldly abilities to enforce their authority and command legions of Fatui members. The Harbingers have been the main antagonists in the story of Genshin Impact so far, enacting plans that threatened the safety of nations all over Teyvat on the behalf of their queen, the Tsaritsa of Snezhnaya.

Genshin Impact All Fatui Harbingers & Ranks

#1: Pierro

  • Alias: The Jester
  • Vision Element: N/A
  • Delusion Element: N/A
  • Weapon: N/A

Pierro, The Jester, is the first of the Fatui Harbingers and their leader, along with being second-in-command to the Cryo Archon. He is the very first member of the Fatui organization and is responsible for recruiting many of the other Harbingers to the Tsaritsa's cause. Alongside recruitment, Pierro appears to be in charge of handing out Delusions to members of the Fatui, with Signora and Tartaglia both receiving their Delusions from him.

Most of Pierro's past is still a mystery at this point, but the Mocking Mask artifact tells players a bit about him—Pierro was a royal mage of Khaenri'ah where he failed to gain favor with the King, leading to him being unable to stop the other sages from bringing destruction to the country. These events caused him to become disillusioned and embittered with the Divine, so he decided to join the Tsaritsa in her mission against Celestia.

#2: Il Dottore

  • Alias: The Doctor
  • Vision Element: N/A
  • Delusion Element: N/A
  • Weapon: N/A

The Doctor of the Fatui Harbingers, Dottore, is described as being ruthless and having little regard for human life. He hates Vision-wielders and has performed human experiments on countless innocent people, including Collei, who was victimized by his use of forbidden knowledge (Eleazar). He once created segments of himself to represent multiple points of his life, but these were allegedly destroyed during his exchange with Nahida.

Dottore was originally a student of Sumeru Academy, but found himself shunned and rejected by his peers due to his ideas. Pierro approached Dottore at some point in the past and offered him an invitation to join the Fatui and continue his research.

#3: Columbina

  • Alias: Damselette
  • Vision Element: N/A
  • Delusion Element: N/A
  • Weapon: N/A

Columbina, also known by the alias Damselette, is the third of the Fatui Harbingers. While she visually doesn't evoke danger, she's said to be an extremely dangerous individual whom even Tartarglia and Wanderer warn the Traveler against. Little else is known about her, but her position in the upper echelons of the Fatui Harbingers implies that she's extremely powerful.

#4: Il Capitano

  • Alias: The Captain
  • Vision Element: N/A
  • Delusion Element: N/A
  • Weapon: N/A

Capitano is well-known for his combat ability, earning praise for his strength from both Wanderer and Childe. Despite his overwhelming strength, he's known to be a reasonable man who can be quelled with peaceful negotiations—evident in his encounter with Varka's Expedition Team. Varka described The Captain as someone who is not stubborn and would have loved to spar with the latter.

#5: Pulcinella

  • Alias: The Rooster
  • Vision Element: N/A
  • Delusion Element: N/A
  • Weapon: N/A

The fifth member of the Fatui Harbingers is Pulcinella, also known as The Rooster. Very little is known about this Harbinger, but he is described as having a methodical and calculating personality. He appears to have incredible foresight, as Pulcinella is the one who noticed Tartaglia's unique abilities and combat potential at the age of 14, inviting him to join the Fatui and satisfy his appetite for battle. He is said to be close to Tartaglia's family, but it's unclear whether he his motives are pure.

  • Alias: The Balladeer
  • Artificial Archon Element: Electro (Scaramouche), Anemo (Wanderer)
  • Delusion Element: N/A
  • Weapon: N/A

Scaramouche is known as The Balladeer, the sixth member of the Fatui Harbingers, and is possibly the most enigmatic member of the group. He is an artificial being that was created by Raiden Ei in an attempt to recreate her sister, but he was deemed a failure and cast aside. At some point, Scaramouche was found by Pierro and given a home among the Fatui, becoming a Harbinger with the powers of a pseudo-Archon.

Scaramouche lived with a tragic past, first abandoned by his mother (Ei), and then abandoned by those he became close to. He was involved in the Tatarasura incident, which led to him eventually joining The Fatui. Scaramouche managed to create an artificial god with Il Dottore's help but was stopped by Nahida and the Traveler. He has since turned over a new leaf as Wanderer.

#7: Sandrone

  • Alias: Marionette
  • Vision Element: N/A
  • Delusion Element: N/A
  • Weapon: N/A

Sandrone is a puppeteer who often tinkers with automatons, having created the giant machine that follows her around. She's also speculated to have created the Katherynes all over Teyvat. Wanderer claims that Sandrone has a terrible attitude and that everything she makes is garbage, and she seems to constantly annoy Childe for unknown reasons.

#8: La Signora

Image via HoYoverse
  • Alias: The Fair Lady
  • Crimson Witch Magic Element: Pyro
  • Delusion Element: Cryo
  • Weapon: Catalyst

Signora was once an ordinary student from Mondstadt named Rosalyne. She studied at the Sumeru Akademia and was in a relationship with a man named Rostram. However, Rostam lost his life during the cataclysm, and Rosalyne's heart was swallowed by grief and rage, leading her to infuse her body with the art of liquid fire. She became known as the Crimson Witch, the woman who wished to watch the world burn.

Eventually, she was found by Pierro and convinced to join the Fatui organization, becoming the eighth member of the Fatui Harbingers and gaining a new alias—The Fair Lady. She was heavily involved in the plots to steal Venti's and Zhongli's gnosis' before meeting her apparent demise at the hands of the Electro Archon.

Pantalone, the ninth Fatui Harbinger, is in charge of Snezhnaya's economic policies and is an extremely wealthy man. Despite growing up in poverty, he amassed excessive wealth through his philosophy of a "fair exchange," and has a personal agenda of making Shezhnaya the "heart that pumps money into the world." #10: Arlecchino

Image via HoYoverse
  • Alias: The Knave
  • Vision Element: N/A
  • Delusion Element: N/A
  • Weapon: N/A

Arlecchino is known as The Knave, having received her title after defeating the previous title-holder. She runs a shady orphanage known as the House of the Hearth, which was originally built to stop the prophecy of Fontaine from coming to be. However, the organization is also known to groom children into becoming Fatui members and are sent in dangerous operatives all over Teyvat. The Traveler has met a few of them in Inazuma and Sumeru. Playable characters Lyney, Lynette, and Freminet are also known to have grown under Arlecchino's care. She's known as the "Father" and is a native of Fontaine.

#11: Tartaglia

Image via HoYoverse
  • Alias: Childe
  • Vision Element: Hydro
  • Delusion Element: Electro
  • Weapon: Bow

Tartaglia, also known by the alias of Childe, is the eleventh member of the Fatui Harbingers. He is also the youngest member who was recruited into the ranks of the Fatui at the age of 14, and quickly made his way up the ladder. This was a fairly easy task for him, though, as Childe had a bit of a unique childhood—he lived in the Abyss for a short time, and met a swordsman named Skirk, who taught him how to fight and survive within the Abyss. When Childe finally managed to resurface into Teyvat, he had gained fearsome new power and a lust for combat.

While Childe first appeared as an antagonist in Liyue's story, he eventually became friends with the Traveler and other familiar faces in Teyvat, including Zhongli and Yoimiya. He has appeared all over the world, including Inazuma and most recently, Fontaine.
