Tips for defeating Crag Jaw in God of War Ragnarök

Crag Jaw is very similar to Gravel Belly, who you fight at the end of The Desert Door Favor from the Forbidden Sands of Alfheim. He's a big, old beast that you'll want to bring down with ranged attacks first, then rush in to deal massive damage.

The yellow cracked spots on Crag Jaw's front legs are weak points you can exploit with your Draupnir Spear. Use L2 + R1 to lodge a spear directly in a weak point. The cracks will turn red when you've hit them. Then, press Triangle to detonate the spear lodged in the weak point. It will deal some damage, but, more importantly, it will greatly increase Crag Jaw's stun gauge. When his stun gauge is full, Crag Jaw will fall over to his side, leaving him vulnerable to a close-range assault.

Crag Jaw has two attacks that you cannot block: a bite and a body slam. These attacks will be indicated by a red circle. Your best bet is to dodge sideways to avoid these attacks. Crag Jaw's yellow circle attacks can generally be parried. If you are not confident in your timing, it may be best to focus on dodging these attacks, stunning him from a distance, then closing in.
