How to open the Nornir chests in Aurvangar Wetlands in God of War Ragnarok

Here's how to unlock the two locked chest in Aurvangar Wetlands Svartalfheim in God of War Ragnarok.

If you have played the first God of War, then it's no surprise the chests locked with Runic Magic are back. With sealed chests, you need to locate and destroy three seals for the first one, and then match Spinners for the next one to unlock them and get the goodies inside. Here's a guide on how to open the locked Nornir chests in Aurvangar Wetlands in Svartalfheim in God of War Ragnarok.

First Aurvangar Wetlands locked Nornir chests in God of War Ragnarok

The first Nornir chest is located not far into the Aurvangar Wetlands. It is the first sealed chest you'll come across and will show you the basics of how to unlock them, due to them being locked by Rune Magic.

Where to find the seals for the first Nornir chest in the Aurvangar Wetlands in God of War Ragnarok

You need to find three seals to unseal the locked chest in Aurvangar Wetlands in God of War Ragnarok. Finding all three Kratos can open the chest to get the spoils inside. For this chest, you need to destroy the three runes to open it: R, B, and F.

Where to find the first seal, B, for the first locked chest in Aurvangar Wetlands Svartalfheim

The first seal, B, is located more or less directly in front of the R rune on the right side of the chest. In line with the R, you'll see a rock formation with a seagull nesting on top. It's tough to miss the B rune. Throw your Leviathan Axe at it to destroy it.

The second seal, F, is located to the right of the golden chest, on top of some rocks. You probably noticed this one straight away. Once again, lob your axe at it to destroy it.

The third seal, R, isn't located next to the other two. Jump back over the gap, and look for a water geyser on your left.

Throw your axe at the base of the water to freeze. Next, press circle to propel yourself toward the grapple point using your chain and climb up. When at the top, look to your left, and you'll see a tree. To the right of the tree is the third and final seal, R.

With all three seals destroyed, take the shortcut to the left of the tree, open the chest, and claim the spoils of an Idunn Apple.

Second Aurvangar Wetlands locked Nornir chests in God of War Ragnarok

The second Nornir chest in Aurvangar Wetlands is after turning the wheel and opening the gate allowing you to progress further into the Aurvangar Wetlands. Head to this location.

Where to find the three Spinners for the second Nornir chest in the Aurvangar Wetlands in God of War Ragnarok

To open the sealed chest after the gate in Aurvangar Wetlands in God of War Ragnarok, you need to find three Spinners and rotate each one to match the runes on the chest by hitting the paddles on the Rune Seal with your axe. Each Spinner has three runes, which change every time you turn it. The runes you need are P, B, and N.

The first Spinner is to the right of the chest, past the giant wheel stuck in the ground. You'll see a geyser to the wheel's right with the Spinner behind it. Just throw your axe at the left paddle of the Spinner to break the first Seal, P.

To find the second Spinner, when facing the sealed chest, follow the left wall and grapple up the wooden board on your right. At the top, turn and look up and to the right to find the Spinner. Hit the right circle to make the N rune appear.

From the second Spinner, run left, jump down, then look to your right. You'll find the third Spinner. Jump down, and move to the Seal's left so you can read the rune. Throw your axe at the leftmost circle to change the rune displayed to a B.

Follow the path to the right of the Spinner to quickly return to the chest to loot a Horn of Blood Mead.
