Demon Slayer: Hinokami Chronicles Hand Demon Second Encounter Boss Guide

Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles has several iconic antagonists from the anime for players to tackle as Tanjiro and his Demon Slayer allies. One of the first adversaries Tanjiro faces on his journey is the Hand Demon, a boss with several encounters for players to tackle. The second skirmish with this boss can be daunting, but any player can tackle it with the right tips.

• The second encounter with the Hand Demon places players in a larger venue; make sure you know how much space is available, as attacks in this phase can reach father and require more evasion than before.
• Take note of the red notch in the Hand Demon's health bar; when players reach that level of the health bar, the boss will cripple, triggering a final quick-time event cutscene.
• During this encounter, the Hand Demon will launch three boulders with his rock toss, so when he plants his hand into the ground, make a sharp dodge away from his hand to avoid taking damage.
• Be wary, as the Hand Demon will often use this attack in rapid succession, alternating his hand to toss rocks.
• The large area of effect attack from the Hand Demon's first fight is back, but with a much larger radius than before. Head back and avoid his hand swipe attack, as it will break Tanjiro's guard.
• Attack the Hand Demon in between his rock tosses and hand swipe, taking heed to dodge when his short-range punches are prepped. Make sure to use some special attacks and combos when attacking the Hand Demon.
• The Hand Demon will occasionally blast Tanjiro back with a gust of wind. This doesn't hurt, but it will make players vulnerable and create some distance between the boss.
• The Hand Demon will use a Surge during this boss fight, where he cannot be staggered, and deals increased damage. When he glows red, do not try to attack him.
• The Hand Demon will charge forward during the surge, so look for a red marker indicating his path on the ground.
• The Hand Demon will also launch his fists into the ground and send them catapulting into the air. Watch out for red circle markers on the ground as several uppercuts follow.
• Once the Hand Demon's Surge ends, he'll be vulnerable, so get close and deal damage while he's stunned.
• The Hand Demon will continue to alternate the above attacks, including his surge until his health is depleted, so make sure only to attack when he's in between attacks and unbuffed.
• Make sure to use your Boost once the meter on the bottom left screen is charged as it increases damage output.
• Once the Hand Demon's Health is depleted, make sure to prepare for the upcoming QuickTime event. (Complete prompts quickly to unlock Trance Memory at the end of the battle.)
