With Halo Infinite out for players to experience, players learn about the game's unique progression system. Unlike previous Halo games, players won't level up and increase rank in Halo Infinite. Instead, they'll be working towards unlocking the game's many cosmetics.
Experience in Halo Infinite levels up the game's Battle Pass. There are 100 tiers for players to progress through, and completing each tier grants rewards. To gain experience, players must complete Halo Infinite's Daily and Weekly Challenges. These challenges require players to complete specific actions in Halo Infinite like completing matches, getting kills with distinctive weapons, and winning games.

The first six games players play in a day will grant extra experience towards Battle Pass progression. In contrast, the seventh game onward will give 50 experience points after each match, as detailed by the game's community manager, John, Junyszek.
Once players complete each of the game's Weekly challenges, Halo Infinite will afford them a chance to unlock the week's ultimate reward via one final challenge. The game's weekly challenge offerings reset every Tuesday, meaning players have seven days to complete all the challenges in their queue and unlock this weekly reward.
