Halo Infinite's open-world map is filled to the brim with Easter eggs, secrets, and collectibles for players to find. Among these collectibles are Halo's signature Skulls. These Skulls can be found scattered all around the map, usually in difficult-to-reach places. Once obtained, the Skulls can be used to change certain mechanics and aspects of the gameplay. The Skull's effects usually make the game more difficult, but some occasionally add silly things into the game like rare enemy dialogue or a confetti explosion upon a successful headshot.
Where to find the Black Eye Skull?
The Black Eye Skull can be found on the fourth island in Halo Infinite's open-world map. Players will need to reach the story mission The Sequence before they have access to this Skull's location. Between the points of interest on the map called Riven Gate and FOB Kilo, players will find a lake that has a waterfall flowing into it.
This Skull takes inspiration from the classic 'behind the waterfall' trope and can be found in an alcove behind this waterfall. This exact placement of the alcove's opening can be very difficult to pin down but is about halfway up the waterfall on the right side of the landmark. This opening cannot be seen from the ground and will likely take players a few tries to find, but it is most easily accessed by using the grapple hook and traveling up and down the waterfall until it is spotted.
Once entered, the Skull can be found at the back of the room surrounded by a red light.
What does the Black Eye Skull do?
Some Skulls in Halo Infinite have effects that make the game more difficult, and the Black Eye Skull is definitely one of them. The Skull's description is "Better get punchy." and its effect causes the player's shields to only recharge when they execute a melee attack. With Halo Infinite's wide variety of enemies, close-up melee attacks are not always an option and this Skull can cause players real difficulty when in combat.
