Hogwarts Legacy is a hit open-world RPG set within the Harry Potter universe. Explore iconic locations and discover a new chapter across various platforms as you master the ways of magic. While you may be ready to dive in, some questions are specifically for Xbox players remain. This includes whether Hogwarts Legacy requires Xbox Live to play.

Does Hogwarts Legacy require Xbox Live?

Hogwarts Legacy is a single-player game with no online or multiplayer features. As such, you do not need to have Xbox Live to play Hogwarts Legacy. However, Hogwarts Legacy does require an internet connection to download the Day One patch or any future updates.

Other than this, Hogwarts Legacy has no online features on any platform, including Xbox. This means that Xbox Live is not required to play Hogwarts Legacy, and you can enjoy this title without having Xbox Live.

That being said, Hogwarts Legacy is only available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. This means if you are on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, or Nintendo Switch, you will not be able to play Hogwarts Legacy until April 4, 2023, regardless of if you have Xbox Live or an internet connection.
