All Elemental Damage Types in Horizon Forbidden West

Make use of the elements.

Horizon Forbidden West resumes the adventure of Aloy, where Horizon Zero Dawn ended. The intrepid adventurer continues her quest to save Earth, battling any machines that stand in her way. Both Aloy and her enemies can use elemental damage in Horizon, and making sure you know what each element does in battle is key to overcoming Aloy's enemies.

Elemental DamageEffectState Impact
AcidBuilds to the Corroding StateEnemies with the Corroding State take damage over time and block less until this state dissipates.
PurgewaterBuilds to the Drenched StateDrenched enemies are more susceptible to Frost and Shock buildup. Elemental damage is removed from enemy attacks when Drenched.
PlasmaBuilds to the Plasma Blast StateEnemies in the Plasma Blast State create time-delayed explosions once the timer expires.
FireBuilds to the Burning StateBurning enemies take damage until the Burning State wears off.
ShockBuilds to the Shocked StateEnemies in the Shocked state are stunned for a short period, making them vulnerable to attacks.
FrostBuilds to the Brittle StateEnemies in the brittle state receive more Impact Damage for the duration of the Brittle Status.
