Horizon Forbidden West offers a new set of abilities for Aloy to master on her adventure through the wilds of the West. One of the most prominent new abilities at her disposal is her Valor Surge: an ultimate decisive move with varying effects.

Critical Boost

Aloy's weapons gain increased Critical Hit Chance, and the Critical Hits she does land deal increased damage to her enemies.

Elemental Fury

Aloy increases the buildup and duration of her elemental attacks while simultaneously boosting her elemental resistance.

Trap Specialist

Aloy activated a unique Focus mode that allows her to improve trap and tripwire effectiveness for a limited time.

Ranged Master

Aloy bolsters her ranged weapon effectiveness for a limited time with this Valor Surge. Excellent for dealing with enemies at medium to far range. Hurting foes during this Valor Surge also heals Aloy.

Powershots

Aloy equips her Bows, Boltblasters, Ropecasters, and Spike Throwers with Powershots capable of inflicting increased damage. Once these Powershots expire, the Valor Surge ends.

Toughened

Aloy consumes a special potion that restores her health consistently over time and gives her resistance to status effects for a limited time.

Overshield

Aloy activates an armguard that gives her a rechargeable shield that absorbs damage. This shield also recharges when depleted if Aloy has Valor available.

Stealth Stalker

Aloy activates a cloaking device that decreases her visibility to adversaries. Aloy also does bonus damage to targets unaware of her presence while cloaked. The device deactivates when Aloy uses melee attacks and aims in with ranged weapons.

Radial Blast

Aloy attaches an overcharged module to her spear that sends a powerful shockwave through the ground, damaging any enemies in the area and inflicting Shock Buildup.

Aloy deals additional damage to enemy weak points and machine components, making them easier to tear and break.

Aloy can chain damage between enemies within a 15-meter radius and boost her knockdown power. Perfect for crowd control.

Unlocking Valor Surges

After the three connecting skills are acquired, each Valor Surges unlocks. While you need skill points to upgrade Valor Surges, they do not require points to open.
