Horizon Forbidden West is now available on PlayStation consoles, and players have to grind the game regularly to collect maximum resources. Metal Shards are perhaps the most common resource in Horizon Forbidden West, and acquiring them is relatively straightforward.

Machines are the primary source for Metal Shards in Horizon Forbidden West. The fastest method to collect Metal Shards is to explore the map and hunt all the various types of machines found in the Forbidden West. Metal Shards can also be found in chests, supply caches, and by completing challenges in the Main and Side Quests.

Metal Shards are needed to craft almost everything in Horizon Forbidden West. It is a primary resource that players have to collect throughout their expedition. Players can farm Metal Shards by completing Hunting Grounds Trials and other missions in-game. Quests usually reward players with a good sum of Metal Shards that can be used for crafting later on. 

Treasure boxes also contain Metal Shards, which players can find exploring the map of Horizon Forbidden West. Players will also find these underwater, and it's best to open maximum crates to get more Metal Shards. Farming for Metal Shards never stops in Horizon Forbidden West.
