Horizon Forbidden West is now available on PlayStation consoles, and players have new side activities like Gauntlet runs, which is essentially machine racing. Gauntlet runs are machine races hosted by Tenakth rebels. These races are conducted with machines. Every competitor gets a Charger to ride throughout the race.Â
Winning Gauntlet runs can be a difficult task in Horizon Forbidden West, especially if players don't obtain Stun, Tear, and Shock arrows during the race. The objective is to win the race, and players can do it by collecting multiple speed boosts to get ahead of opponents, or by shooting down opponent Chargers with arrows to slow them down.Â
Players will get a slight speed increase for collecting Blaze Boosts along the way in Gauntlet runs. Activate the Blaze Boost by simply pressing R2 to pace ahead of opponents in the race. If Aloy gets shot by opponents, make sure to press R2 quickly to recover from the negative effect. Press the Square button right before the enemy shoots an arrow at Aloy to block it mid-way.
There are a total of four Gauntlet runs that players will come across in Horizon Forbidden West, with The Stillsands run being the toughest of the lot. Aloy will be rewarded with the Legendary Carja's Bane for winning The Stillsands Gauntlet run.
