One of the most anticipated PlayStation titles in 2022 is Horizon Forbidden West, the sequel to 2017's Guerrilla Games' Horizon Zero Dawn. Fans have been waiting for more information on the upcoming title, and Sony revealed plenty of new details on the sequel.
As part of Guerrilla's mission to create an even more immersive experience, the team has fashioned several new tools for Aloy to use as she makes her way through the dilapidated venues of Horizon Forbidden West. Some notable additions to Aloy's array of gadgets include the Shieldwing, a device that allows her to glide down from high places.
Another massive improvement brought to Horzion Forbidden West is the free climbing system. In Horizon Zero Dawn, players could only traverse specific game areas, and this is no longer the case. Aloy can now climb just about anything, opening up traversal in ways previously impossible in the Horizon franchise.
The Spike Thrower is a powerful new weapon that makes it easier for players to damage more prominent targets. Old weapons like the Hunter Bow, Sharpshot Bow, and Blast Sling will return alongside newer ones.
There will undoubtedly be more surprises debuting in Horzion Forbidden West when it launches on February 18, 2022, so be sure to keep an eye out for more information.
