How to beat Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts 1.5 ReMix

If you thought the Hades Cup was tough...

Sephiroth is considered the most powerful enemy in the whole of Kingdom Hearts and can only be fought in the Olympus Coliseum after beating the Phil, Pegasus, Hercules, and Hades Cups.

Once all four Cups have been obtained, talking with Phil will open up two new options: "???", and "Platinum Match." The first option will pit you against an Ice Titan, and the second will put you in the ring with Sephiroth. Beating him, as threatening as it may seem, lands you with some quality perks, including the One-Winged Angel keyblade, as well as Ansem's Report 12.

Tips for beating Sephiroth in the Olympus Coliseum

First and foremost, it is worth pointing out that Sephiroth can pack a serious punchwith his supersized blade. Two, maybe three well-placed hits, and you'll more than likely find yourself waking up to the game over screen before making so much as a dent in his six health bars. This brings up the first tactic: keep moving. Don't hesitate to sprint around the borders of the arena from the moment the match begins.

If you haven't already, be sure to synthesize the Ultima Weapon at the Moogle Workshop in Traverse Town. Having +14 strength and +2 MP will give you the attack power needed to one-up Sephiroth's swift strikes and ultimate attacks.

Of course, it goes without saying, but you should aim to reach the maximum level (that being Lvl. 100) if you're planning on breezing through the bout. Level 80, with perhaps a collection of items that enhance your health and defense, should also suffice.

Having a fully-stocked inventory of Elixirs is also a must. Should you take a hit during battle, you will need a direct pick-me-up before countering Sephiroth's attacks. Having Cura assigned will also assist you throughout the fight, and can be used to heal Sora a lot quicker than searching for an Elixir partway through.

  • Ultima Weapon - Unlocks after synthesizing all items at the Moogle Workshop in Traverse Town.
  • Cosmic Arts - Can be synthesized at the Moogle Workshop in Traverse Town.
  • Omega Arts - Can be obtained by defeating the Behemoth in Hollow Bastion.
  • Crystal Crown - Can be synthesized at the Moogle Workshop in Traverse Town.
