To get timber in Lost Ark, you must chop down trees using the Logging Tool. You can see trees that can be chopped down on your map by the log symbol. Approach the tree and move your cursor over it. This will turn it into an axe—Press G to begin chopping the tree down and get timber.
There are various types of timber, and what timber you have can be seen in the storage section of your inventory. Timber is typically used to craft items or upgrade your ship once you have unlocked it in-game. It will take some time before you acquire the ship, but collecting timber beforehand isn't a bad idea.
