What does it mean when a piece of equipment is Bound to you in Lost Ark?

It's tied to your soul.

When you play Lost Ark, you'll notice a lot of the equipment has the word Bound on it. At first, this might seem confusing, but there is a simple explanation.

Recommended Videos

If you hover over an item or equipment and it says Bound, it means you cannot give it to another character on your Roster or trade it. Roster Bound items cannot be traded but can be stored in your Roster storage and used by another character in your Roster.

Storage can be found in any major city and labeled as [Storage Keep] on a map. Bound equipment and items fill up inventory slots, so we recommend putting Bound items into storage or getting rid of them.

You can dispose of Bound equipment by dismantling it. Press I to go to your Inventory and click on the Dismantle button (the hammer and rock on the lower left of the Inventory Window) to dismantle items. You can then either right-click the item or drag it into the new window.

By clicking Dismantle, your Bound gear will be removed from your inventory forever. When you dismantle bound items, you get Useful Equipment Pieces and Broken Equipment Powder.
