Energy Tanks are one of the most important upgrades to obtain in Metroid Dread and there are nine tanks to snag in the game. Eight of these are available in-game, while the ninth requires players to have the Metroid Dread Samus Amiibo. There is one hidden Energy Tank in each of the four areas of Dread's map, with two tanks each in ARTARIA and BURNEIA:
ARTARIA
The Energy Tanks in ARTARIA are located in the upper left and bottom right of the map. Their exact locations are as follows:
- Upper Left: Down a corridor that requires the Speed Boost and Shinespark abilites to obtain.
- Lower Right: In plain sight, but requires players to slide in and out.
BURENIA
The Energy Tanks in BURENIA are located in the mid and bottom of the map. Their exact locations are as follows:
- Mid: Located at the end of a corridor and requires the Flash Shift ability in order to bypass a breakable floor and attach to the magnetic wall.
- Bottom: This Energy Tank is a bit tricker to obtain, and requires Storm Missiles and the Space Jump in order to enter the alcove it resides in.
CATARIS
The Energy Tank in CATARIS is located towards the upper right-hand side of the map. This area is accessible after the heat has been diverted and the magnetic lift becomes accessible. Move the lift down in order to access the area with the Energy Tank above it.
DAIRON
The Energy Tank in DAIRON is located mid-map and requires players to use both the Speed Boost and Shinespark to break through a vertical shaft and obtain the tank.
ELUN
The Energy Tank in ELUN is located towards the right of the map and requires Bombs to obtain. Simply shoot the blocks beneath it, bomb the block in the way of it, and snag the tank.
GHAVORAN
The Energy Tank in ELUN is mid-map and requires the Ice Missile to obtain. Easily accessible, players just need to extinguish the flaming wall to access the tank.
Metroid Dread Samus Amiibo
The seventh Energy Tank in Metroid Dread is obtainable by purchasing the Nintendo Metroid Dread Amiibo 2-Pack. Players just need to scan the Samus Amiibo in-game to obtain the Energy Tank. This can only be done once, though the Amiibo may be scanned once a day to refill Samus' health.
