How character customization works in New World – Are there any classes and races?

New World is the brand new MMO from Amazon Games that delivers something fresh to the online gaming world. However, as people flock to the game in its record-breaking launch, many have questions about the classes, races, and character customization available in New World.

What are the Classes and Races in New World

There’s a short answer to whether there are classes and races in New World: There are not. New World is non-traditional for an MMO in that there are no rigid classes and no different races to choose from. Instead, every player is a human stranded on the eponymous New World.

However, instead of classes, players level up their Core Attributes, which help work out their character. So if you want to be a melee fighter, you might level up Strength. Or if ranged weapons are more your thing, then Dexterity. This means the differences are minimal at the start of the game, but characters will find their niche as you level up.
