How to complete the Sandworm Raid in New World

Before stepping inside the area, you must understand that Shah Neshen is a beast-type boss character. So, create and equip the following build to take on the creature more efficiently inside the arena.

Here's my recommended build to Kill Shah Neshen:

  • Beast Wards: Add or equip Beast Ward's perk to your defensive items like shields and other wearable accessories. The passive ability allows you to absorb up to 5% of the damage inflicted by any beast.
  • Beast Bane: Beast Bane is another perk that must be added to your primary weapon. It can be any sword, Firestaff, or Axe. The ability allows users to inflict up to 25% more damage on beast-type enemies.
  • Trophies: Place down trophies like Major Wildlife Combat and Major Angry Earth Combat in your houses to provide extra damage numbers(Up to 5% per trophy) against beasts like Shah Neshan.
  • Gems: Use any stones of your liking that provide acid Resistance, Strike Protection, and Strike Ward perks to your character.
  • Potions: Apart from the essential healing/mana potions, ensure to carry the Acid TintureInfused Beast Ward, Infused Beast Coating, Powerful Incense, and Honing Stone in your inventory.

Tips and Tricks to Defeat Sandworm in New World

Below are a couple of tips and tricks to defeat the Sandworm:

  • Light Mechanics: Firstly, understand the light mechanics in the arena. It is a feature that allows players to get extra damage buff if all the players stand in the correct color order on the platform. Make one of the players recall the order of the color correctly. Please do not lose this damage buff at any cost, as it could tilt the favor of the battle toward you.
  • Team Composition: If you are playing with friends, please form a balanced team. Your team should have a HealerTank, and Ranged DPS players to tackle every situation. Also, even though the game only demands you to bring a minimum of 12 players, it is better to enter with a squad of 20 players to make the raid much easier. The best way to look for players is to look inside your Faction menu.
  • Attack Types: The Devourer has three main types of attack - Acid Bomb, Acid Spew, and Physical attacks. Acid Bombs should be destroyed by a ranged DPS player in the air before the explosion. The Acid Spew has a fixed pattern that can be learned and dodged after some time. For the physical attack, evade at the right instant. Also, make sure to mine the Sandworm eggs whenever thrown out by the beast.
  • Mini-Enemies: During your battle, you will face two types of mini-enemies or bosses - Golden Monster and Scorpions. Whenever they spawn on the arena, please focus on them before attacking Sandworm, as they inflict a lot of damage in a short period.

Rinse and repeat all the above processes till you defeat the boss and obtain the rewards. Remember, it will take some time to learn the entire process. So, be patient and keep trying till you get the hang of it. Also, if you are playing with random people, try to communicate with them through the entire quest through the in-game voice or text chat.
