How to fix Lag Detected error in New World

With any new game launch, players can expect to encounter a few problems. New World has been highly anticipated for quite some time and while the process has been relatively smooth, there have been some issues. One of these issues is the New World lag detected an error.

There is a simple fix for this error. Follow along with the steps below:

• Open your Steam library and scroll down until you've found New World.
• Right-click on New World and select Properties.
• Find Local Files and click on it.
• Click Verify integrity of game files. 

What this will do is ensure that all of the game's files are in order and authenticate each file.

This error seems to occur in highly populated or busy areas. What makes this error incredibly frustrating is it causes the error message to appear and stay on screen for quite some time. It can even kick you from the game, thus placing you back in a long queue.

Should the error not be fixed by these steps, try restarting the game. You may need to verify the integrity of the game files again as well. This being New World's official launch day could be increasing the lag. With luck, you will get the error fixed quickly and be able to join New World's servers once again, lag-free.
