How to get Thermosap Crystals in Pacific Drive

Break apart these glowing gems for the real prize!

Specific resources in Pacific Drive are more challenging to get than others but are crucial for crafting essential tools and items. Thermosap Crystals, like Plasma or Electronics, require you to use your handy tools to harvest. Here's how!

Pacific Drive Thermosap Crystal - Locations and How to harvest

Thermosap Crystals are a more difficult resource to harvest because they can only be found in midzone areas of the map, the swampy, more dangerous locations. The midzone consists of any of the stops between the two lines in the middle of the map (all locations circled on the image above). Once you drive into one of those spots, you can explore and locate your Thermosap.

You won't find Thermosap Crystals lying around or in containers like some resources. Instead, you will want to look for Sap Compressors. Sap Compressors are pedestals with large red, glowing gems on them. The glowing light makes detecting it easier, especially if it's dark out.

When you come across a Sap Compressor, equip your Impact Hammer and hit the gem. It will break apart into several Crystals for you to collect. You can usually get 5-8 Thermosap Crystals from one Sap Compressor. Find more nearby to really stock up!

What are Thermosap Crystals used for?

Thermosap Crystals are used for several important crafting recipes down the line, like tools, lights, and more durable car parts. I find it most handy for crafting the Liberator tool, which is a godsend for removing parts from abandoned vehicles. Here are a few other recipes it's used for:

  • Thermal Vaccum
  • Liberator
  • Puncture Proof Tires
  • LIM Shield
  • Armored Panels
  • Turbolight Engine

Stock up on Thermosap Crystals while you can to keep crafting these essential items. The Thermal Vaccum and Liberator tools, particularly, are crucial for harvesting more materials like this as you progress.
