As it turns out, the problem here is with the server's inability to check your PlayStation Network license. To fix this issue, go to Settings > Account Management > Restore Licenses. Let the restoration process complete, and then turn off your PlayStation console for about half a minute. Run the device back again and your problem should be resolved.

Some users reported that the license restoration progress didn't go all the way through. Instead, they received another PSN error, codenamed WS-116521-6. If you're facing the same problem, fret not because there is yet another way to resolve it. All you have to do is reset the internet connection setting on your PlayStation console and restart the device after one minute to fix the PSN error.

How to check PSN Server Status

If you ever face any connectivity issues on your PlayStation device, you should visit the PSN Service Status web page to ensure that the problem isn't from your end. If any of the services are highlighted in red, then the problem is most likely with the PlayStation servers. Additionally, you can also check Downdetector, a community-driven website where users report their issues. If nothing's adding up and you cannot solve your problems, register your complaint at PlayStation Support.
