Best moves for Alolan Ninetails in Pokémon Legends: Arceus

It's not only pretty, but pretty good in battle, too.

In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, moves determine your Pokémon’s potential in battle. Pokémon will naturally learn more powerful ones as it levels up, but you can also visit Zisu in Jubilife Village to have it learn others for a price. This is true for every Pokémon in the game, including Alolan Ninetails—the Ice/Fairy fox Pokémon.

Best moves for Alolan Ninetails

Alolan Ninetails’ best stat is Speed, though between its base Attack and Sp. Attack, the latter is much higher. This means that it’s better off with special attacks over physical ones like Iron Tail. Given that, below are the best moves it can learn.

  • Quick Attack (learned at level 5)
  • Dazzling Gleam (learned at level 29)
  • Ice Beam (learned at level 37)
  • Energy Ball (learned from the Move Tutor)

Moves that are used by Pokémon of the same type have their base damage increased by 50%. We call this same-type attack bonus (STAB). Dazzling Gleam and Ice Beam are going to be your Pokémon’s STAB moves. They’re high in power with perfect accuracy.

Meanwhile, Energy Ball is super effective against Rock Pokémon, which Alolan Ninetails is weak to. Plus, it gives you extra coverage, as it's super effective against Water and Ground, as well.

Lastly, Quick Attack is there so your Ninetails can potentially get two turns consecutively (or another turn later on) when it's first used in Agile Style. After all, Speed is its highest stat and that determines the frequency of turns a Pokémon can get every battle.
