Best moves for Giratina in Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Have you ever seen a Pokémon with a more perfect movepool?

In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, moves determine your Pokémon’s potential in battle. Pokémon will naturally learn more powerful ones as it levels up, but you can also visit Zisu in Jubilife Village to have it learn others for a price. This is true for every Pokémon in the game, including Giratina—the Renegade Pokémon.

Best moves for Giratina

Giratina is a Pokémon with an equally high Attack and Sp. Attack. This means that you give it both physical and special moves, and it’ll use each with equal power. Given that info, below are the best moves it can have:

  • Shadow Force
  • Dragon Pulse
  • Earth Power
  • Iron Head (learned from the Move Tutor)

Moves that are used by Pokémon of the same type have their base damage increased by 50%. We call this same-type attack bonus (STAB). Shadow Force and Dragon Pulse are going to be your Giratina’s main STAB moves. Both are also super effective against Ghost and Dragon types, respectively, which Giratina is weak to.

Iron Head will cover Giratina’s last two weaknesses: Ice and Fairy. Both are weak to Steel-type moves.

Finally, Earth Power is just for more coverage. It’s a powerful Ground-type move and is super effective against five types: Fire, Electric, Poison, Rock, and Steel. With a near-perfect moveset like this, Giratina could most definitely have usurped Arceus.
