Best moves for Vaporeon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus

For your chosen Eeveelution.

In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, moves determine your Pokémon’s potential in battle. Pokémon will naturally learn more powerful ones as it levels up, but you can also visit Zisu in Jubilife Village to have it learn others for a price. This is true for every Pokémon in the game, including Vaporeon—one of Eevee's many evolutionary forms.

Best moves for Vaporeon

Vaporeon is a bulky Pokémon with very high HP. However, it’s second-best stat is its Sp. Attack. This means that it’s better off keeping special attacks than physical ones like Aqua Tail. Given that, below are the best moves it can learn.

  • Water Pulse
  • Ice Beam
  • Rest
  • Shadow Ball

All of these can be taught by the Move Tutor, Zisu.

Moves that are used by Pokémon of the same type have their base damage increased by 50%. We call this same-type attack bonus (STAB). Water Pulse is going to be your Vaporeon’s STAB move. Ice Beam is super effective against Grass-type Pokémon, which Vaporeon is weak to.

Rest is for restoring HP, a great move for a high-HP Pokémon. Plus, the game doesn’t have the sleep status—only drowsy. Drowsy Pokémon can still sometimes move. It’s no different from being paralyzed and will only last a maximum of five turns.

Shadow Ball is there for more coverage. It’s a powerful Ghost move and is super effective against Psychic and Ghost, which are abundant during the night.
