Best Nature for Onix and Steelix in Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Natures are attributes that all Pokémon possess in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. These attributes will raise one of the Pokémon's stats by 10% and lower another by 10%. Natures can be chosen strategically to make a Pokémon more efficient in battle. While many players don't pay any attention to a Pokémon's Nature, it can be the thing that sets their Pokémon apart from the rest. You can find a Pokémon's Nature on its summary page in the in-game menu.

Onix and Steelix have massive defense stats in Pokémon Legends: Arceus and the best Natures will strengthen that advantage. Raising the Pokémon's defense is especially important when using Onix, as its Ground and Rock-typing gives it a long list of weaknesses, including two 4x weaknesses to Water or Grass-type damage.

• Relaxed: Defense (+), Speed (-)
• Impish: Defense (+), Special Attack (-)

How to choose the best Nature

Since these Pokémon are powerhouses for defense, Relaxed and Impish are great Nature choices. Relaxed Nature will increase defense at the cost of speed, while Impish Nature will raise defense and lower special attack. If the chosen Nature is Impish, players should be sure to avoid using special attacks in battle when possible as their effectiveness will be lowered with this Nature.

The best Nature will ultimately come down to playstyle and how players use their Pokémon in battle. Enhancing a Pokémon's strongest stat is recommended to make them more effective, but it is not a requirement.
