Pokémon Legends: Arceus is a Pokémon game that's much more centered around exploration and open world elements rather than a more confined set of cities and routes. This means that there are a lot more movement options in the game. Now, you may be wondering: is there a way to jump? The answer is yes, but not necessarily in the way you may think. There are a couple of different ways to jump, so let’s take a look.
Dodging
First off, dodging is one of the most basic maneuvers in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. It’s a leap forward that turns into a tuck-and-roll in midair. You won’t get much height with this, but you will get a fair amount of distance. Its main use is dodging Pokémon attacks. You can use the maneuver at any time you aren’t on a mount by pressing the Y button.
Jumping off ledges
This may seem self-explanatory, but if you make it to the edge of a cliff—or even just to the top of a small ramp—you can jump off. There is no invisible wall keeping you on that altitude in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, so jump down all you want. Note, however, that there is fall damage if you fall too far. Also, you can’t swim very well, so maybe don’t jump into that river.

Jumping on Pokémon Mounts
Now, if you were reading this article to find out about how to jump upward, here’s how. You can’t jump vertically on foot, but you can while riding select Pokémon. In total, there are two Pokémon mounts that allow the player to jump.
On land, the player can jump with Wyrdeer, the first mount the player gets. In the water, players are able to jump while mounting Basculegion. The jump button on a mount Pokémon is the Y button, just like dodging. Jumping with Wyrdeer is the best way to get up mountainous terrain.
