Basculin is a Generation V Pokémon with a Hisuian variant that was added as Pokémon number 166 in the Pokémon Legends: Arceus Hisuian Pokédex. Like most Pokémon in the game, Hisuian Basculin shows up in special areas and has unique features that you should know if you want to add it to your collection.
Hisuian Basculin Spawn Locations
Basculin is fairly common and can be found in multiple areas. All of them are highlighted in the map below.
- Cobalt Coastlands: In Tranquility Cove and Islespy Shore of the Cobalt Coastlands.
- Coronet Highlands: In Fabled Spring of the Coronet Highlands.
- Alabaster Icelands: In Lake Acuity and Heart's Crag of the Alabaster Icelands.

How to catch Hisuian Basculin
Basculin can be caught like any other Pokémon: with Poké Balls. You can greatly increase your chance of success by weakening Basculin before you throw a ball at it. Basculin is vulnerable to Electric and Grass attacks, so be sure to hit it with attacks of that type to get its health low. When you feel that it is weak enough (usually when its health bar turns red), toss a Ball at it to catch it.
Basculin Evolutions
Basculin is the first form in its evolutionary line. It evolves into Hisuian Basculegion, which made its premiere in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. You can evolve Basculin into Basculegion by going into your Pokémon stash and manually evolving it once it has met the right conditions.
- Conditions
- Basculin must receive a total of 294 recoil damage. This total does not include recoil damage received that leads to fainting.
That's everything you need to know about how to get a Basculin!
